Looking for heavy duty tube 130/90-15

Hi,

Has anyone got any suggestions or experience regarding thick tubes for Zong. I am looking for tubes in sizes 100/90-18 front and rear 130/90-15.
Thanks.

I have read very good reviews for the Bridgestone Ultra Heavy Duty inner tube; it is 4mm thick! 8O This inner tube is available in size 100/100-18, which should be close enough for your front wheel. I don't know of any heavy duty inner tubes in size 130/90-15.

Thank you Spud that's a great help. For rear tyre I found Metzeler Tube - 15" Type B (TR-87 90 degree). I am sure it's much better than chinese one. Because i am running street tyres that's why i am looking at getting better tubes. I've put sealant in both tyres a while ago. But I read somewhere that it deteriorates at time. Not sure how true is that. I forgot the name of the product. But these guys. http://punctureproof.com.au/video.html claim their product can last as long as the tyre. Check this youtube video very cool too.
Thank you again for your help.

On Tuesday i went for a ride. Didn't bring my camera. Will do it next time. But what i got was early Christmas present a puncture. It was my front tyre.
As soon as i noticed that tyre was deflating slowly i turned around and started going as fast as I possibly could, back home. I managed to get home on the Zong, was very lucky.
Unfortunately sealant didn't work. Will have to look at some other options. Maybe carry a sealant and apply it when I get a puncture like FastDoc is carrying his.

Today i got 2 new tubes. One for the front and one for the rear. I was thinking of getting Bridgestone Ultra Heavy Duty inner tube as per Spud's recommendation.
Went to a Honda dealer but he advised me against that tube, he told me it wouldn't be good for the front. So i got this one instead.

Didn't have any problem with installation.

The rear tube got it from Yamaha dealer. Looks o.k. Don't know if i'll be replacing it yet. It's hard work replacing tubes,
especially if you don't know what you are doing.

I also found what caused the puncture. I pulled the thorn out a bit.

Thorn in its glory. I am afraid he's last one.

I'm amazed that thorn could penetrate the tire! 8O

I don't know what plat they are from but we also have thorns that can puncture but we have stuff here that can do it also. Not so much motorcycle tires but bicycle tires all the time. Very aggravating  . They can also go THROUGH your sneaker into your foot! That's rude.

I'm glad you were able to ride home on the deflating tire, Pliskin.

Some riders swear by the Bridgestone Ulta Heavy Duty inner tubes. However, like Pliskin, when I bought new tubes I decided to get the lighter, Bridgestone Heavy Duty inner tubes. The heavy duty tubes are more than thick enough, and they must certainly be easier to install than the ultra heavy duty, inner tubes.

I couldn't believe it myself. Thorn was very sharp, i think the tip is black because it was burned or something, maybe it made it even stronger. The hole in the tube was so tiny it's very hard to see it. That's why I managed to get back home. You would expect this kind of thing to happen to bicycle tyres but not motorcycle.

I pumped the tyre, at first didn't notice anything. Then when i turned around i saw this.

Egads! 8O That's a highly regarded, Bridgestone, Heavy Duty, inner tube! It looks like a boa constrictor after swallowing a badger! :(

I would seek a refund, Pliskin. I certainly wouldn't trust that inner tube.

Today i took the boa constrictor to the honda dealer. But they told me that's normal for heavy duty tubes, if they are not inside the tyre. Told me to bring the wheel and they will install it for me which they did free of charge. I went for a ride afterwards everything was fine. I will upload pictures tomorrow.

That's a good thing to know. Thank you for giving us an update, Pliskin. I never inflate my inner tubes to that degree when they are not inside the tire, so I was unaware of this phenomenon.

I've seen that very behaviour when I've checked for leaks. I like to pump new tubes up and hold them under water before installation, because it's a quick time investment. I'd rather be sure of tube condition before installation.

That's an excellent tip, Weld! I wish I had a washtub, or other container big enough to hold an inflated tire. Can you think of an inexpensive, plastic container that is big enough to do this job? My least expensive option is probably buying a wash tub. I wonder if someone manufactures plastic washtubs?
