There is an easy, no brainer method of lacing up a wheel. I think it is chapter13 of building a BM250 trials bike. You may have to run it several times to understand the guy. He moved to NY state a few years ago from Yorkshire, Michael Waller at Britannia Motorcycles on youtube. Unless he's been censored off of there too. You never know, once censorship starts how far it will go...

CSC did not have any front rims in stock. I ordered a Warp 9 rim from RockyMountainATV that was $95.00. It will undoubtedly be a better rim but it hurts when I found the replacement rim on Taobao for $23.00. I won't have to wait a month to ride though.

Question, on topic, can you lace up a 1.85" front rim or would it be too much? or it all comes down to the tire, 1/4" difference??

Oh boy. I don’t remember where I was exactly. There’s so many on Taobao. Just search for “轮辋 cqr250” or “ 轮辋 motorcycle” and look for a 21x1.6 36 spoke. Taobao is VERY new to me.

I'm super impressed with RockyMountainATV. The rim is already here. It took 40 hours from order to door; Winchester, KY to Des Moines, IA. They cover the shipping on orders over $75.00 and it went Fedex the whole way.

I also got $5.00 with of "RMcash" to use on my next purchase and I'll certainly be back to these guys.

I won’t know if mine is trash until this weekend when I change the rim. I’ll worry about it then if I need one but I’ll keep you updated if I do.

If the rotor is tweaked, you can always set up a magnetic base and dial indicator to see how far out it is. You can then literally use a large adjustable wrench to manipulate it back in place, a little at a time. You can usually do that task while the wheel is mounted on the bike.

Oh wow. That seems tedious to try and perfect a rotor by hand and not get chatter etc but.... that would be a true Chinarider fix. Good post.

I laced up and trued the wheel today. All went well but I did notice the old rim was stamped 1.4 and I purchased a 1.6 according to others posts here. You guys know ur stuff much better than I do so I trust it will work fine with the stock tire.
New rim came with a rim lock hole so I electrical taped the nipples well below the bead seat and threw the old rubber rim strip over top for good measure. That’s as far as I could get today.

I was surprised by the Chinese tube that came out. Many here have said they are super thin and garbage but I was surprised how durable and thick it seemed. I’m going to put in a new heavy duty tube but I’m keeping the original in my pack for a spare.

It's on. Was easy to do and pretty fun also. I think the bead seated just fine but you can see a few mm of the edge all the way around. It's even on both sides so I'm not worried about it. I rode slowly around the block and all the spokes still pinged but I'll be checking them often for few rides to see if any work loose. Thank you all for the info and advice.

I ordered the front wheel from Texas Powersports on the 15th and received it on the 23
