Got my speedo today too. Same easy install as yours. I love the thing so far, but I'll have to dial in my tire circumference as well probably. Stew you have stock tires right? Did you have to mess with the 'sensor number' setting at all?

Yes, the bike came stock. I found that setting the circumference at 1995 matched my GPS exactly at all speeds. However, considering the unexacting level of equality with these units, yours could be different. It was also kind of difficult to program...it says to press the button (and hold the button)...then turn the key on...then short press the button to change the number that's flashing (that means quickly)...then to change the number flashing to the next number you long press 3 times...took awhile to get the hang of it. I didn't need to set the fuel or anything else as it was preset perfect...just the tire size. I don't know what sensor you ordered but I had to reverse the green and the yellow wires to match the plug on the speedo.
One other VERY important thing to remember...EVERY TIME you adjust the circumference and go back to normal mode it resets itself back to Kilometers per hour! It was very frustrating and I kept thinking the adjustments were off. To go to MPH, after the unit stabilizes, press the 'settings' button and hold it until it goes to MPH. Then test your speed. It messed me up for a while because I kept thinking the unit was malfunctioning! Last edited by stewbrash; 07-21-2021 at 12:56 AM. |

Took the bike out for a 6 AM cruise and Jaysus Keerist it is loud! So I bought this from Amazon:https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07FDZB1S5...roduct_details Yes, I know, most people put them inside...but I have a spark arrestor in the way...and it moves the exact same amount of air either way. Also looks 'James Bond'-ish...hidden machine-gun!
Now it sounds like one of those Honda SL350 scramblers from the 70's! (little hint as to my age! hah!) The cool part is when I want to go riding trails it all comes out easy-peezy with a t-handle allen! LOL looks like youve got a mg42 hanging off the back of your bike. I was thinking about doing the exhaust on mine but I kind of like how quiet it is. I'll have to post a few pics of mine soon, I just got the Brozz cargo rack on last week and hopefully I'll get the skid plate on this week.

James Bond silencer broke the baffle on the muffler, so I wrapped it in stainless mesh-attached with rivets-cut and bent back the outer flange to have something to attach with, then installed it normally...should of done this the first time! Looks kind of sloppy but it works. (My back was hurting, so I rushed it.)

Herbie, I was torn between the blue-black and the grey-black...they both look great!
What surprised me (my last bike was a Honda XR500 thumper in the 80's), is I forgot how BIG these bikes are... the seat is a serious 36 inches off the deck! Might have to go the Brozz shock route. My older-self has a hard time throwing it's leg up-and-over, haha! At 5'11", I don't really have a problem reaching the ground... it's getting on the dang thing! Imagine wiping out on some hill and trying to get back on it! Here's some more eye-candy! (For reference as to the size of these...that is an 8 ft. garage door!).

Just sent you a PM for the sensor and the speedo. The digital sensor is needed as the Brozz comes with it stock...the Raven...does not. https://www.alibaba.com/product-deta...4a6a7408z2rAJ6
If you order this set-up, make sure the green and yellow wires from the sensor, match the plug from the speedo...I had to switch them around...ie-green to green and yellow to yellow. |

So this speedo worked out of the box on the BSR? I have a 2016, and I tried one of the aftermarket Hawk speedos and it didn't work. I'd be interested in trying this one, because I really dislike the stock version.

So sorry for the late response as I have been dealing with a death in the family, a new (part-time) job and ground school for a Sport Pilot. Glad to hear of your success installing the speedometer! It is well worth the $50 plus the $50 you saved by cutting out the middle-man! I am on my 500 mile oil change and really just love this bike!
