Templar X Carburetor reinstall.

Trying to reinstall my carburetor after pulling it out to change the jets. And it’s being a B***h to get back in the intake boots. Is there a trick to this? I was able to wiggle it out the side. And I have back in. But I can’t get both ends to to go into both rubber boots to save my a**.

Did you pull the aluminum plug covering the adjustement screw for the air pilot? If not go do that before putting it back on, you don't want to go through this process again and again with the rubber boot?

I found it was the cold weather that made it difficult. Even silicone spray didn't work. What worked a treat was borrowing my wifes hair dryer and warming up the whole area and getting that air filter boot rubber nice and warm. Didn't need any lubricant using that method.

Darn good idea! I’ll do it! About the air pilot screw. I tried to get that out using the screw method that you posted on the forum. But it wouldn’t come out for anything. I tried prying it out with small screwdrivers and even picks. Still no deal. Last thing I tried was a drill bit slightly smaller than the hole to drill it out. But I am afraid I’m getting into the screw. So I stopped. I’m gonna send a pic and tell me what you think.

I had my carburetor secured in a vise so it would not move. Used a soft interface material so no direct metal on metal grip. Then under the screw I placed a small adjustable wrench that I could close down so it would not pass the head on the screw. Then holding that horizontal I tapped on it with a small light weight hobby hammer and it tapped out.
