I will try my best to be at NoNo's Cafe (with a full tank of gas of course) at 9am, I have a 1.5+/- hour ride to NoNo's so I hope I don't keep everyone waiting too long

Howdy Folks,

Made it home safe and sound. Here's a screenshot of today's GPS track. I can't figure out how to embed the live map.

It was an excellent ride today. Thanks everyone.

Cheers,

Dan K.

Had a great time today, even though I dropped and broke a few pieces my bike trying to get gas before the ride, I melted and almost started my bike on fire (somehow... thanks ATC/ATO Fuse...), AND I got to freeze the last 10 miles of my ride home (rain, 40+ mph winds, and 45 degree temps)... today was still a really good day

Let me know if anyone want's their face blurred out or if they want the original pics I snapped. This is the only pic (out of the 7 I took) with no faces in it so I will post that up until I hear back from everyone

I just noticed something... every time we stopped somewhere we always parked in a similar fashion as the pic ... Japanese bike, China bike, Japanese bike, China bike, Japanese bike, China bike.

Also forgot to mention... everyone passing by our parked bikes seemed to ALL be eyein that Orange RX3 that was in the group such a sweeeet bike!

Azhule,
Sorry to hear you ran into some weather on your ride back north. KLR's can be dropped, set on fire, rained on, it'll just keep going.

Otherwise, it was a good ride. Agreed on the Orange RX-3 getting all the comments.

Thanks to Joel for coordinating.

Mark

Nothing to be sorry for, it all just adds to the adventure

What a fun and interesting day... how does a KLR melt a fuse and burn through the ATC/ATO connector... and start to work again, only after the simple process of taking the bubbling and burnt fuse... looking at it... looking at the stunned faces around me... then putting the burnt up 10a fuse back in place as no one had any extra on hand... "Poof" all is fixed headlight and brake lights working again such a fun day.

It was really great meeting everyone today. The route didn't go as planned (at all!) but we saw some amazing country and had a great time.

Despite my best intentions, I only took a couple of photos today, and they were both at NoNo's cafe. Hopefully, the others will post their pics too.

You just can't beat a full day of riding. I was on the road at 8:20 and didn't get home until 5:30 ... just as the rain hit the garage. The 120 miles of twisties and scenery were captivating and the company was fantastic. We stopped for lunch in Morrison at the Country Kitchen, and I had a delicious heart attack in a tortilla - aka a crispy chile relleno surrounded by hash browns, wrapped in tortilla and smothered in green chili. Wow!

This was a great shakedown for my new engine and it performed fantastic. I'm not sure I like my new 13T/45T gearing, but that will probably change on my first hardcore dirt track. Even with this gearing, I easily held 65 mph on the highway at 8000 RPM and could have gone faster if I wasn't just out of break-in.

Anyway, thanks everyone for coming on the ride ... and for your patience with our last minute route changes. I had a great time!
