Stay away from my nut, 2LZ!

I used red Loctite when I installed the new nut.

I enjoyed using my Motion Pro Gear Jammer to lock the gears as I tightened the nut to the specified torque. It sure beats using a penny. The Gear Jammer is the blue item shown in the photo.

Same here. I came back from camping to find this thread. Congrats 2LZ! If I count very slowly, I think that makes two CSC bikes for you; is that right?

Thanks guys! Yep...well, almost Weld. The TT is still in Limbo. We didn't order Mrs 2LZ TT until late February so I have a ways to go yet.

Spud, thanks for posting the gear jammer! I think I have a bottle opener of similar shape and material.

Anyone have comparison pics of both headlights? Our RX3's don't have the zirk fittings on the swingarm so it seems we have the earlier ones. I think mine shows a 5/15 assembly date.

I do have to give a "high five" to CSC. As posted earlier, my R/F blinker was dead, for whatever reason. After troubleshooting it, it ended up being the blinker and not a connection or frayed wire. I got on the CSC site Sunday evening and ordered it. I know they're closed Mondays and I also know they're "pedal to the metal" there with the TT's and RX's shipping out so I didn't expect it for a week or so. It showed up in yesterday's mail!!! I was stunned...and now have a functioning blinker!

The MP Gear Jammer is made from aluminum, so it can't damage the steel gears. A penny also works, but it is sometimes difficult to get it into position, and then you need to clean up the mess afterwards.

Ok, checked last night and I have the LED strips on the headlight so both bikes are 15's.

I hit DMV yesterday with crossed fingers. These are 50 state legal but one never knows. Many times it depends on the mood of the counter person. It did take her a while to find it in the computer but it popped up. Of course, I had to pay the sales tax on top of registration, transfer of title, first born male child, etc...etc... and all was good! The only hang-up was that I have to bring it in for an inspection because I purchased it from out-of-state and it's not "in the system". At least I got a temp registration so I don't have to trailer it, just ride it in and any of the counter people can do the verification.

That's great.

You definitely have a 2015 bike from the first shipment. I remember when Veteran bought his two bikes with the rest of us "early adopters."

So Spud, did these early bikes come unassembled? I guess I do have to chase the valves AND oil then.
Veteran gave us a ton of extra stuff with them including gear sets, lowering links, an entire set of extra body panels, plus new fuel tank (that will all be camo) and some other items. The guy is a top notch human being, for sure. We also got 3 oil filters apiece so I don't have to worry about those for a while. I think I'll hit Wally World on the way home tonight and get some oil. I did see on the frame tag last night that it says to use 20/50 oil.

One thing I noticed last night is that the upper plastic chain guard rides right against the chain. I'll need to look at that tonight. It seems like I ran to Oregon, got back and have been at work ever since!

More pics to come gang!...I just have to have time to take them.

Yes, this bike was in the first shipment. We assembled these bikes ourselves.

I ditched the plastic chain guard; I do this for all my motorcycles.

Boy, you guys (and gals) aren't kidding! I installed the 13 tooth countershaft sprocket this morning and wow, what a difference. No more having to rev and slip the crap out of the clutch to get it rolling. Plus, it made it much more friendly in the twisties. It makes it tough to keep it under 5500 rpm's but there's much more usable revs under that threshold now. No more having to totally bury the throttle to keep up the speed. I have the larger rear sprocket also but I think I'll run just this for now. Seems like a very nice gearing, especially during break-in period. Now that it's starting to loosen up some, I'm really noticing it slowly come to life. I loosened up the stock rear shock today and it helped somewhat on the harshness. It's really becoming a pure pleasure to ride. A chunk of road I hit this morning was really bad asphalt filled with patched potholes and the faster I rode, the better the bike handled. Very nice! It does need a seat pad though.

I finally burned off enough gas to get the light to come on, which means I still have a lot in there, from what I understand. I rode most of the morning, taking it easy and enjoying the sights for break-in. Now It's going on the rack to strip it down to do the valves and to bend the float wire later this week after work....and as promised, here's some pics of the RX3 in it's native habitat. In the last pic, that creek does run across the road about 6 months out of the year until it dries up. Sometimes it gets pretty deep.

Well I guess ill be ordering a 13t tomorrow too if it makes that much difference. I know what you mean about the shock, first time I rode it I thought I was on a rigid.

The 13T sure sweetened my bike up!
