As always, thanks for your kind words of encouragement, Keith. I'm still working on that thread; I need to add a few diagrams, photos, et cetera.

I bought the movie, Himalyan Hero, and just finished viewing it. I'm surprised to report the movie is even better than the trailers. A father and son ride 4,500 kms (2,800 miles) across India and Nepal on 150cc, Hero Impulse motorcycles.

If you have seen the movie, or want to learn more about it, please join my discussion at the following thread.

Spud - video looks really interesting. The promo speaks about bonding, riding, etc. How much of the video is story line / dialog versus riding? The scenery looks amazing, but would love to hear commentary about where they are, what they experienced, etc.

Heck... this might be my X-mas present to myself.

Happy Holidays to all!

This is a great film, and it would make an excellent gift for anyone who loves motorcycles. The film has an excellent story line, complete with commentary regarding the towns, culture, and amazing scenery. The film is remarkably well edited, and the cinematography is superb. The film also discusses the relationship between a father and his son.

If you buy the film, and I recommend you do, please join the discussion in the thread at the following link.

Merry Christmas and happy New Year to you too Spud . How you holding up under house arrest with all the snow and cold? I'm going bonkers here in WW. It was a great year and I'm looking forward to 2016 with all the RX3 community, rj

The days are getting longer, Rob. Perhaps the jet stream will shift, and things will warm up in the Pacific Northwest. Now that I have my Progressive shock absorber installed, I am planning some nice trips for the RX3 next year.

My Progressive shock has shipped and should be here next week. Did you get a new one Spud from the production run ? Is it any different from the one you tested? Was it fairly easy to install or did you have to remove a bunch of stuff to get it in?
Have you done any digging into the 2016 adjustable forks to see if we can buy the parts and retro our 2015's to make then adjustable? That would be cool, rj

ps are you planning a trip to Enterprise , OR Wallowa ADV rally this year? I hope to make it again.

I tested the shock before the first production run, but I'm sure the shock body is the same. Perhaps the spring is different; I'm not sure.

The shock installation is easy and straightforward. I did reverse the direction of the bolt in the upper shock mount; that is the only change I made. I might post an installation tutorial after Christmas.

I have not found any parts to retrofit the front forks to make them adjustable. However, I think the forks work very well when the stock fork oil is replaced with 10W fork oil. If CSC develops stiffer, aftermarket springs, I think the stock forks will work very well.

At the moment I don't have any plans to travel to Wallowa, or Enterprise. However, I will let you know if I decide to head that way.

My new shock is on the way too. I'm pretty excited!

I have a whole list of things to do to the RX3 ... progressive spring, new chain, 45T rear sprocket. I'd like to build an alloy rear wheel, but I've never done that before. I think it might be too much to do all at once.

That is a great list of modifications.

Just a friendly reminder to folks that the CSC discount for online orders for parts and accessories ends on New Years Eve. The 20% discount code is Holidays20. I put in my order for the new, revised center stand, and with in-state taxes and shipping, I still was under retail price!
