Jay, that sensor looks the part but its just a thermo-switch for the fans.

My temp readings come from the PCHUD diagnostic software which uses the temp sensor with the blue connector, mounted on the thermostat housing. I also have an after market temp gauge with a sensor positioned just before the thermostat housing.
