Yes, one could experiment by adding extra washers between the fork caps and the springs.

Also, I was very pleased to note that CSC will stock all parts for the Zongshen RX3 forks. Zongshen America did not stock fork bushings and many other small parts for the Zongshen ZS200GY-2 (Sierra) motorcycle. CSC is offering product support which far exceeds the support available from any other vendor of Chinese motorcycles, and greatly exceeds the support I received from the now defunct, Zongshen America.

That is an informative chart, and a perceptive insight. You contribute a lot of interesting information, Detours.

Forty-five minutes ago the Hanjin Germany was sailing southeast at 12.0 knots from the following location.

LAT: 41° 54' N LONG: 136° 08' W

Having crossed the 42nd parallel, the vessel is now due west of the northern California coast.

Ah, lots of questions and lots of developments.

Regarding the wheels, see the CSC blog. Please, no phone calls on this package yet; it's still in development. But it shreds. It's awesome. When the wheels are available we will post the info on the blog.

Regarding the foam air filter and if it is oiled from the factory, I didn't think to ask when I watched them building the bikes on my most recent visit to Chongqing. The airbox is installed on the line as a complete subassembly (which is typical for assembly line operations in any industry). On our test bike that we used for the air filter maintenance tutorial, I couldn't tell by looking at it if had been oiled. That bike has about 8,000 miles on it and the filter was relatively clean. Most of its miles were on the dyno, so it was all indoors.

I don't have any personal experience with Notoil, but based on the preferences expressed on this board, we'll look into stocking it.

Regarding the questions on fork braces...same thing, I've never used them on any motorcycle. I've read positive and negative things about them, but I have no personal experience with them and certainly no experience using a fork brace on the RX3.

On the question of fork gators, etc., some people can get damage on the forks that can ruin the fork seals. I've never had that happen on any motorcycle I've ever owned. The only motorcycle of the many I've owned that ever had a fork seal leak was a '95 Triumph 1200 Daytona, and that one failed from old age shortly after I bought the bike. I bought it brand new when it was 7 years old (it's a story for another time).

Thirty minutes ago the Hanjin Germany was sailing southeast at 13.1 knots from the following location.

LAT: 39° 10' N LONG: 131° 27' W

The vessel was at the same latitude as Carson City, the capitol of Nevada, which is located near Lake Tahoe. The latitude of the ship was slightly north of Sacramento, and well south of Salt Lake City, the respective capitols of California and Utah.

Congqing, China is a very long way from Los Angeles, California. In honor of the long voyage across the 'pond,' here is another time lapse video of Chongqing, the city of manufacture for our Zongshen motorcycles. The following video is a slower time lapse, taken at closer distances. Therefore, the people and vehicles almost appear toy-like in this video. I really enjoyed watching the large backhoe shown at the 2:30 mark in the video.

I think I found a use for that lower lamp in the stock headlight. If the translation is right, Taobao has a couple of xenon conversion kits for the stock headlight. There are even colored lamps for the top left and right accent lights.

It seems to turn the upper lamp into a colored accent light with an LED ring and puts a xenon into the the lower projector. I don't care for all the colors, but a nice bright xenon is tempting.

That is very interesting; thank you for sharing that information. Are you planning to give the Xenon bulb a try?

I really like the LED headlight I installed in my Honda CRF250X.

http://chinariders.net/showthread.php?t=13947

I would install the same LED bulb in my Zongshen RX3, but I don't know if there is enough room inside the headlight assembly.

Therefore, I decided to buy the updated, LED headlight assembly from Taobao.

I will compare the LED headlight to the stock headlight, and post my findings after my RX3 motorcycle arrives.

That's the one I ordered. Just make sure you choose the correct option with the higher price of 438 CNY.
