I don't know where you are getting your 'facts,' but I don't ride my RX3 "hour after hour" at 8,000 plus rpms. The NC250 engine can handle this demand, and run smoothly, but I didn't buy a 250cc bike to ride all day at high rpms.

The counter balance NC250 is exceptionally smooth. I've happily logged several 600+ mile days the majority of which are at 8000rpm. I find long days in the saddle easier on the little Zong then on my Triumph Sprint ST.

8000 RPM doesn't feel bad at all ... 9000-10000 RPM starts to get buzzy though.

Got to go on a fun day trip last week with a buddy and our RX-3s and finally got around to chopping up and mashing together the video throwing some music on it and getting it on youtube. Its 11 minutes and pretty boring but somethings better than nothing.

Blinkity blink blink

So I discovered something today with my turn signals. I've always assumed and operated them like they were canceled by pushing in the turn signal button to cancel them. Mine has always felt crunchy???? and just didn't feel "fun " to use. Today when riding I just slide the button back over to the middle and it canceled . So I tried both left and right signals and they both cancel seamlessly by just returning button back to center kinda like the bikes from the 70's. Felt like they were designed to be operated that way. Way smoother.
So tell me how you guys operate your turn signals and how they feel as a comparison? Maybe I broked mine? rj

I cancel mine both ways, the push action on mine felt a bit odd until I opened the housing and applied a bit of lithium grease.

I also cancel my turn signals using both methods. I am going to follow Jay's example, and apply some lithium grease to the mechanism.

Remember the custom Porsche GT3 green RX3 that Joe blogged about a little while ago? Looks like it's living in Las Vegas!

That bike certainly has a pretty green color. It matches the rider's helmet perfectly. Thanks for posting the link to the video.

Thumbs Up New Member

Well, I'm coming over here from ADVRider, and although I'm going for surgery to repair a broken leg today and will be useless for the next 6 weeks, Lying in the muddy water a couple of weeks ago with my DR650 on top of a badly broken leg, gave me time to think...I need to reevaluate my riding and my needs. I need an RX3!! So, after wrestling it up, getting it off of me, out of the mud and riding home, and getting a hip to toe cast, I ordered an orange one So...for now, I'm content to read, learn and contribute basically nothing as I don't have it yet. I realized I'm more of an adventure rider than a longtime street rider trying to wrestle a huge, heavy "dirt bike" in the woods, taking it places my wifes XT225 should only go. I love smaller displacement bikes, and needed something better suited to riding both dirt and street, riding with my wife, or kids on the back. Yes, I know it's "only" a 250 and blah blah blah (this is the part where you guys understand what I'm saying), but I've had a Vstrom, and would've loved it but at 5'9" and 30" inseam, it was a no-go. SO, thank you for listening and I'll report back as needed.

Good luck with your surgery AdventureDad! You won't regret getting an RX3.

Yes, I expect that one would become somewhat philosophical in such a predicament.

thanks for joining us!

BTDT, my 'event' was with a G650GS on the TAT. I did not break a leg but it hurt like hell for a few weeks. Thank goodness for the Combat Touring boots. Like you, I'm ready to down size and actually enjoy going off road a bit on something that won't have me in constant fear of the bike taking a nap. 250 sounds just right to me.
