rpms on lf 200 gy2

My manual says when the bike is started, the rpms should be at 1500, I have a display that is showing 750 rpms when it's started, should I trust the display or is there another way to make sure it's runningproperly?

All these China bikes recommend 1500rpm. That just seems way to fast to me. I set my Honda clone at 1000 and even that seems fast. I would like to know the reasoning behind the 1500rpm recommendation. Does it have something to do with being single cylinder engines?

What kind of display do you have showing RPMs? I recently bought a small tach/hour meter and it reads exactly 1/2 of true RPMs! D'oh!

Cheers!

This is the display I got.
Its from ebay, and its from either China or Hong Kong.

Any info on this device would help me a lot.
When I first installed it, I was able to get more RPMS on the display, but now it can only go to 3,000 rpms. Maybe that's correct but Ithink something is wrong there. Awe well..

Its something atleast.
