F my TBR7...

Trying to find TDC to do the valves.... found an “F” with a line next to it... no T’s... it fires up, but it sounds like a diesel now. I owned a VW bug for years, so I’m no stranger to wrenching, but this one has me struggling, because I watched the Motocheeze video and he referenced the “F” on there... thoughts “am I 180 off?

No the F is for fire and comes just before TDC so if you see the F, the T isn't far past it. I know on my Hawk it was easy to miss it, a flashlight helps.

Also make sure you are on the compression stroke when aligning TDC or when you adjust or check your valves it won't be accurate.

Watch the intake rocker as you turn the motor. Once the intake valve closes you are on the compression stroke. Plus what he said ^

Well, the second time was definitely easier. I’m crossing my fingers that I got it this time.

Glad this was just a question/answer thread, from the title it sounded like you were not very happy with the bike

Thanks for the help... I believe I got it all squared away. Now I know for sure the hesitation is the carb... Luckily, I had already gotten one and it is sitting here. Now anyone have any thoughts of jettings and settings for 2500 ft?
