Vertical Horizon Fork Lift Stand Review

Several months ago I purchased a Vertical Horizon Fork Lift Stand for my Zongshen 200GY-2 motorcycle. When used with a swingarm stand, this fork lift stand greatly facilitates removing the front wheel from my motorcycle.

I purchased this fork lift stand on eBay, for about $35, from a different vendor than the one shown in the link below. However, my fork lift stand is the same model, only it is red in color.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Motor...item35aac70108

I moved the springs on the support rods to the outside of the stand, and I bought some washers from the local Ace Hardware store to adjust the width of my fork lift stand. In the original configuration, the spring pushing on the inside of the support arm usually caused the right fork support to contact the brake rotor, interfering with the removal, and the installation of the front wheel. The washers allow me to adjust the width of the stand perfectly, so it does not interfere with the brake rotor on any set of motorcycle forks.

This fork lift stand is very sturdy, and very easy to use. Changing the front wheel is a very easy job while using this fork lift stand, and I am very pleased with this product.

It looks like an easier way to do it than hanging the bike on a pulley from the ceiling.

Indeed! In addition to facilitating a front tire change, the fork lift stand also makes it easy to inspect, and tighten spokes on the front wheel.

A friend gave me one of those as a gift but I barely use it. I always find myself using the lifting center one. It's good to have bikes with "flat belies"

Yes, a lift stand is also convenient. However, I prefer to raise the forks on my 340-pound, Honda XR650L with the fork lift stand. I raise the forks on my 256-pound, Honda CRF250X with the lift stand.

I really like my T-Rex swingarm stand. You can read my review at the following link.

The HF swingarm stand will only work with bikes which have swingarm spools. The T-Rex swingarm stand will work with just about any motorcycle.
