Yeah I know, but there may be times when I won't want to
ride it. It is heavier and not as trail friendly with the tires

I do plan on selling the pitbikes as my daughter has no
interest in hers and my son could probably ride the GY.
Unfortunately the funds will go to pay off bills rather

ImEazy, I think you have the longest running thread here! BTW, your JonWay is a Shineray. Not too long ago, I read somewhere that JonWay imported Shinerays into South Africa. I am guessing that he sold his overstock, or tried to enter the US market, through someone in the US who put them on Ebay. This was before the EPA law went into effect in which bikes had to be certified, when there were dozens of brands in the US selling on Ebay. So,if you feel the quality is there, that says something about Shineray, who have several bikes that are EPA certified, but who don't seem to have a direct importer. I like the ammo cans, BTW, and yes, now that you have a new toy to play with, you have to let your son take the JonWay over...

You won't be able to resist another china bike.

It seems that the resale on china bikes is starting to come around and you may be able to get a decent price out of the pit bikes.

Then after you collect enough copper and aluminum to turn in you can buy another. (paid for my handguards)

Been a while I know. Well with a cold still lingering I decided to
force my self to the garage. After looking at the pitbike I decided
it is pretty much complete. I then got a wild idea to give the GY a
new makeover. I wanted to spray it with bedliner, but at $8 for
a 16oz. can It's not going to happen. I saw another member painted
his with rubberized undercoating. I hit up ebay and found six (24oz.)
spray cans for $24.60 shipped to the door. The case arrived two
days later... woohoo. I got out yesterday and prepped and sprayed
the front fender and a headlight that I got off Adv. Rider for $25
shipped. I added the front signals with a couple of screws and bolts.
They turned out well in my opinion. I also took the time to remove
anything not needed. Example I cut the tool box mounting bracket
along with the tank cover mounts and more. Anything that isn't
needed was removed. I took and modded the rear brake linkage
so that it would run above the rear swingarm rather than over. This
should allow for a couple inches of more clearence. I even replaced
the rear signals with a set of flush mounts that I got at the local
stealership. I still need to prep and paint the side panels, tail section
and gas tank. I know... on to the pics already...

So far I am very stoked with my decision. I think it will look really awesome
when complete. I removed the rear rack as well. I got a tailbag with
bungies that I plan to use for tools etc. More updates to come...

Thanks for the comments. I think it will look good when it is finished.
I showed my son earlier tonight and he was impressed. We both thought
it would look kinda funny, but it actually looks good.

When I was working on the rear brake linkage I also took the rear brake
lever off and bent it a bit to make it fit nicer. I wish I had gone a tad further,
but this will have to do as I don't plan on taking it apart again... laughs.

Might be a few days before I can get to painting the rest of the pieces as we
are expecting rain. Will keep ya'll posted.

Went out today and prepped and painted the tail section.
I wanted to do the side panels as well, but plan on reshaping
them a bit before I can spray them. Probably tomorrow.
I still think this is going to look pretty darn good when complete.
I attached the small bag with a couple of rivets. It will come
in handy for the phone, camera etc. A few pics...

Is that undercoating gas resistant? That may be a good way to paint my tank.

From the can...

For underbody, fender, frame, rocker panel, weld joints, door panels,
gas tanks, fenders, and panel replacements. Also useful for sealing
rain gutters, coating tree wounds, etc.

I just drained my tank tonite as I plan on painting it as well. Should work
just fine. Although I do plan on masking off the filler neck and leaving it
the stock black as it will be hidden by the gas cap.

Edited to include that I am not sure if it is gas resistant but we will find out.

It definitely dries pretty hard and rubbery... kinda like the bedliner they
sell just not as thick. I plan on applying a few coats to the tank. It will be
time consuming as this stuff takes a while to dry.
