it's just such a cramped space under there - I should have paid more attention when I took the tank off the first time to see if there was a way they had shoehorned it in from the factory...alas, that was many tank removals ago.

I think you speak for many of us. I had the tank off again this weekend to re-bend the float arm....and of course, just shoveled it all back in and crossed my fingers. It ran and I didn't smell anything burning, so it passed the test.

Rough country 2" spots

$80. Install was straightforward using csc mounts. Wired it to the handlebar accessory switch. Looks good and very bright. Each light 1440 lumens, 18 watts. 30 degree spot. Have not ridden at night yet but they are much brighter than the stock headlight. Should work well for day visibility too.

Those look like the same ones I have on my quad and they are BRIGHT! Nice job!

For what it is worth after having ridden my RX3 without the mask over the instrument lights at the Hell's Canyon Rally and Iron Butt 1000 ride I have no reason to ever put the mask back in. I can see all the lights in broad daylight with my helmet sun screen down. The only time I was a little confused what a blinking light was telling me was on the Iron Butt when it warned me to look for gas. Easily figured out because the fuel gage blinks right along with the warning light. Blinker, high beam, oil light all easily seen now all the time and at night the high bean wasn't a distraction cause I could see better with the low beam light and rarely used high beam on the trips, rj

What'd I do to my RX3 today...while putting a phone mount on the handlebar, I dropped the attachment screw. It never hit the ground, just disappeared.

What'd RojoGrande do to my RX3 today...he took the both side covers and tank off, looking for the screw that I dropped. Somehow it managed to seat itself under the tank.

Similar thing happened to me last weekend while I changed the shock out. One of the nuts disappeared for three days and reappeared in a bare spot in the middle of the garage that I had already swept clean.

I had one of the little screws that holds the side plastic panels on vaporize before my eyes, POOF. Found it 4 hours later inside the air box on top of the air cleaner.

Thats sounds scary, especially with want may have happened with detours possible "screw ingestion".

They always run like hell don't they? Usually under the heaviest object in the room.

That was exactly what was running through my mind at the time. Funny thing is I looked in the air box a few times with the flash light and didn't see it. I stuck a magnet in the air box after searching everywhere I could think of, heard a click and there it was stuck in the corner at the rear of the box.

Edit: Most people would have given up and found another screw. After 4 years of F.O.D walks on the flight line and learning what damage a tiny screw can do do if ingested by an F-16 intake or lost in a cockpit I never give up looking. Although the RX3 is far from a jet fighter it still matters to me.

This is my best guess at what happened to my engine. I'm glad you found it!

Yesterday, I installed new brake pads on the front (EBC FA185HH). I did a few hard stops to start bedding them in, but didn't get a chance to really try them out.

I had over 5000 miles on my stock brakes and although they took a long time to bed in, they weren't bad. After my quick bed-in, the new EBC already feel as good as stock. As they finish bedding in, I expect they'll get better and better.

Even with the 13 tooth countershaft sprocket, I ran her up to a sustained 7500 R's and it was registering about 75 on the speedo, whatever that really was.
What a fun bike! It sure is nice to finally ride this thing to its potential! I was also very impressed with how smooth it ran at that high of RPM's. No excess vibration through the hands or feet.

And of course....after a few trips out all day to let her rip, once home, I finally found a usefulness for the little tank wings.

Today I added a LED Voltmeter and an auxiliary LED brake/running light.
The brake lights blinks when the brakes are applied.
