Video of my Hawk (30mm Mikuni, 17t)
Totally forgot there was a dedicated video/picture area...
![]() Anyways, here's a video of my hawk! Lots of fun with the 30mm mikuni and 17t sprocket. ![]() Only power wheelies! No clutch ups. ![]() |

Great video! Wheelies, even!! I do think you need to make some more hills on the property, and perhaps consider a couple ramps over the pool for jumping purposes...
How is your carb set up jet-wise? I take it you still have the 50 t rear sprocket?

![]() Its jetted 20/115 now, but I think I'm gonna move it to 25/110. When its warm outside it seems to run worse on the top end, but the idle seems to get better. Yup! I have the 45t on hand, but I really like it the way it is now. ![]() |

The power wheelies are impressive. I guess the extra 23cc makes all the difference. I have a 223 that I might just bolt into my bike.

30mm Mikuni Carb
So, got myself the 30mm Mikuni carb, for my 2015 Hawk 250...and have never installed one myself. Anyone have any tips/tricks for the install? Tool list?? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks! ![]() Last edited by Sebastian666; 05-03-2016 at 10:11 AM. Reason: mistake |

You might want to post this question under 'dual sport' as well as find 'motocheez' on youtube. I believe he has a webisode on the topic (his videos are all about his Hawk 250). He is a member here, as well, but his videos show you what to do.

Did you just bolt on that Mikuni and go? Or did you Rejet it first? Really like the way your Hawk seems to run.

Thanks for the info. I have been reading and watching all the Modification Videos. So when I get my Hawk I will have a good ideal what all I need to do to it so It will run right. Really enjoy working on and building motorcycles.

what's your needle and pilot screw settings? I have 117.5/30, 1.33 pilot screw and 2nd clip on the needle. I'm going go to a 112.5/27.5 and 3rd clip on the needle. thinking the pilot will need to be perhaps 1.25?

My needle is one the 4th spot down from the top, and my pilot screw is... somewhere. ![]() I figured if I have to take it apart ill just count the turns in if I want to reset it back. The bike felt very punchy with the 110 and the other settings the same, I think it was running too lean though. I went up to the 112.5, and it made it a little less punchy, but I think im in a safer range. |
