Oh! Ok...so you ran it direct to box and then used the clear tube as a box drain. Good plan... Thanks for the great pics! :-)

Unneeded mechanical noises bug me to no end. It's one of my anal traits.
I FINALLY found one on the RX3 that has been driving me batty! The dang heat shield buzzing on the head pipe. I tightened those screws down hard and still <dzzzzzzzzzzzzz> Off came the heat shield. I'll put some washers behind it to shim it. In the meantime, since that's eliminated, I need to chase another noise. Sounds almost like a speedo cable whir but there isn't one. Hmmmmm........ I know the chain make noise but this is up front...

Sitting on the bike, reach down with a wrench or tool and see how much slack you have in the chain. If it feels tight, add a little more slack and see if the noise goes away.

I painted the inside of the heat shield with 'Protec', a product meant to cover the underside of cars. It dries to a thick, hard rubber like. Most of the loose sheet metal noise is gone.

Juanro, I'll have to check into that. Great idea! There is the stock high heat wahsers on the inside of the shield but I was wondering if the bolts may be deadheading into the pipe and not snugging the shield as it should. Sure feels tight though.

Mine felt tight, sure enough. There were HT washers both inside (thick ones) and outside (thin). It is more a question of the shield vibrating or perhaps amplifying and emitting the engine vibrations, rather than ratling due to looseness..

I have a whine up front too. My mind keeps telling me to pull the front wheel and check the bearings. I had it before I changed the front sprocket and also afterwards when I adjusted the chain.

Bar End Sliders
Well, since the TT250 project has ground to a halt,...and I received my new bar end weights/sliders in the mail, it was time.
I figured I'd do Juanro's trick of putting on some smaller hose to be able to fit the ever-cool, all aluminum, tapered 2015 handlebars and the little holes in the ends....but out of all the dang hose I have laying around, do you think I could have found the right size!? Noooooooooo.......... Of course....the 36 mile round trip drive to town for 2" of hose was out of the question. I ended up just carefully lathing them down on the side of my grinding wheel until they just fit. Turned out cool! BTW, a 1" hole saw on a drill makes quick (and round) work of the grip ends. Just the right size so the throttle doesn't try to grab the slider.
