Broken weld on lower chain guide
Hello all!
Today I found that the lower chain guide mount welds had broken. Seems like an easy repair, I did send a note to CSC for advice regarding repair methods. Thought I'd pass this on to the group as this could be a corrosion problem if missed. Ride safe! |

Looks like the threaded insert (riv-nut) came out?

Any local hardware supplier should have a replacement.

The bikes vibrate a lot due to running at high rpms. We should all probably get in the habit of inspecting things like this with every chain cleaning or oil change.

Yep, the high rpm vibes broke a light mount and wore a hole through a spare tube in the side case on mine.

Ryan responded quickly and told me the recommended repair is to have the piece re-welded onto the swingarm and that this is an unusual failure. The repair will be covered under warranty. I'll let you know how it all goes with the repair and payment.
Cheers! |

If your not a welder, I'd try a muffler shop as they are used to welding thin tubing. rj

swingarm repair
Hello all,
I've decided to cover the cost of the repair myself and not use the warranty. After thinking about it a bit I can't say for sure that an off-road impact/rock didn't result in this failure. CSC was quick to respond with warranty support but I think in this case I'll own the damage. Be safe! |
