I think that GL-based cafe bikes have a lot of potential, but it seems like such a shame to not be able to ride two up with that much power. There's a GL on the local CL for $400 right now, and I'm really tempted.

Tell her to keep those dreams alive, Weld. Getting out to see the world has many more benefits than being a homebody. I have a cousin who refuses to leave Wisconsin and he's proud of it. :? Jackass is impossible to talk to about the outside world. Me, I'm on my third passport and will be replacing the current one next year.
I spoke French better when I last here, 22 some years ago. Now, I'm like a first year student. But, the pronunciation and sentence structure has improved a lot since Sunday night.

Wow that is a beautiful day!
How's the fishing there?
high today only 65 but it's sunny and warm!
the City of Live Oak stocks the lakes with bass and catfish in the summer time, as well as trout in the winter. there is one larger lake to the left and a smaller lake to the right with fountain and they stock this smaller lake with trout and catfish for the kids. there is kids only fishing time after a new stocking.
the fishing is good, and the catching isnt too bad either. personally i have landed a 6lb largemouth and an 11lb channel cat as my records.
the main attraction at the park (at least for me) is the 38 hole disc golf course. chains!

No shortage of water where I live; it falls from the sky. We're two hours North of Seattle, and we have the same weather pattern. I don't complain much about the rain, because I don't have to shovel it, and I have the perfect haircut for rain. It's about 1/8" long.
We get about eight months of rain off and on, and about four months of sunshine with little to no rain. We have water sprinkler restrictions in July and August, but I'd never use a sprinkler anyway.
Snow is a real rarity in our area.

03-26-2013, 12:55 PM
We pump our water out of the Columbia, Snake, and Yakima Rivers.
That water in turn comes from the mountains of Canada, Idaho/Montana, and the Washington Cascades.
We average only 7.5" of rain a year here, and most all of that comes in the winter. Still the water supply is good due to the rivers.

I tried rattlesnake once. Was told to cut up in short sausages and fry in butter. Then into a crock pot for a few hours. I skipped the crock pot and it was good, "taste like chicken" and tough like rubber. Dog liked it. Don't even think about a copperhead, they stink and pigs won't even eat them. Takes a few days in the hot sun before chickens will touch a copperhead!

Don't know about cucumbers but they stink and once you smell them you know. Usually out right after sun goes down hunting for small critters. You see them during the day too. One night I got 5 of them on the dirt road I live on coming home about 9pm with my bandit, you go slow and when you feel the front tire go over them you lock up the back brake and shred them. If you just roll over a big snake all it does is make them mad.

There are places to ride them but the best places are limited to street legal vehicles. The Alvord Desert in SE Oregon is where I would take the ATVs. One.
Last weekend, momma thought our Italian Greyhound was another fawn. She kept trying to get his attention by nuzzling him. Dasher, being of advanced age along with being nearly blind and deaf, totally ignored her. Until he realized she wasn't us. Then there was doggie panic.

Almost concur. My choice would be a 1967 Ambassador DPL 2 door hardtop. Had one through highschool. 'course a 401 Javelin with a 4 speed and 3.90 axle would cause me to look away. Dad had a 71 Ambassador wagon with a 401. I buried the speedo several times. I'm sure Dad did, too.

From the single bush in my back yard. And there are probably three more of these waiting to ripen.
My city born and bred wife picked about a 1/2 cup before it was 'too buggy, too hot, too humid, too pokey and too stabby before she went back into the house. I got the rest. Looks like I may need a ladder to reach the top of this monster bush. I guess I shouldn't complain too much about Mrs. C, she has been making some killer jam this summer. Yes. The kid has the steadiest hands I've ever seen. Also very creative. I basically show him how to use a tool then turn him loose.
The down side of that creativity is the ultra-perfectionist that comes with it.
"Dammit, Tim. We ain't buildin' show cars here."
"Don't prime that, the paint on the rail wheel will be gone the instant it touches the rail."
"No, dammit, it doesn't need to be polished."
"Tim, I need that done today, not done pretty tomorrow."
The above are things I've had to say to him.

You're correct; it's not stock. ;) Here are some, but not all, of my modifications. ;)
Substituted a 55W/60 H4 bulb for the stock, 35W HS1 bulb.
Cut a ventilation hole in rear of headlight to dissipate extra heat from hotter bulb.
Installed Tusk D-Flex hand guards.
Installed Oxford Premium Touring heated grips.
Installed auxiliary work lights.
Laced a Warp9, 2.50 rim to rear hub, replacing the stock 3.00 rim.
Replaced stock fork oil with Mobil1 Synthetic ATF.
Replaced stock trunk with J.C. Whitney, Garage Pro trunk.
Mounted Shinko 244, size 5.10-17 tire on rear wheel.
Mounted Shinko 244, size 3.00-18 tire on front wheel.
Plus several other, top-secret modifications, which will be revealed later. ;)

Interesting. I had observed that your top trunk was different than most. Also interesting is that you went with a smaller rim. Why was that? Quicker handling? Wider range of off-road tires? You make good choices in heated grips. The warm grips on your Zong saved me one cold rainy day in Idaho.
